Helping to Revitalize Downtown Overland Park
The Edison District Building is located in the heart of downtown Overland Park, KS. This is the first new office building built in Downtown Overland Park in decades and has become one of the cornerstones to the revitalization of this area alongside several multifamily developments.
Nexus 5 Group was introduced to Matt Druten of Overland Park Real Estate by Tim Schaffer of AREA Real Estate, the broker for these projects. Tim had experienced Nexus 5 Group on several other projects and knew that we would be a great fit for these projects.
Ultimately, Matt Druten selected Nexus 5 Group as the general contractor for the new world headquarters for MMGY Global and Wellington Experience. Both companies relocated to the Edison District from other parts of the Kansas City Metro. Both projects were built at the same time and were completed on time and on budget during the most uncertain time of the pandemic.
These projects started construction in mid-March 2020, Wellington Experience was completed by July 1st and MMGY was completed by August 1st on time and on budget.
Special thanks to the architectural team from Gastinger Walker Architects and to our great team of subcontractors. Without these great team members being flexible during the pandemic, these projects would not have been completed on time.

Nexus 5 showed their willingness to partner on a new level and we were able to manage a challenging situation and come out on top”.
